As the weather cools down, my crockpot becomes more and more of a staple on the kitchen counter. Here are some of my favorite healthy recipes for the crockpot.

Mild Crockpot Black Bean Chili
My chili recipe is a staple in our household. It makes a ton of chili, and I kept it mild while retaining a ton of flavor since so many people I love can’t handle the heat. It’s a crowd-pleaser, but also a great meal-prep option. One of those I just never get tired of.
Slow Cooker Italian Chicken and Potatoes
This hearty meal is so easy to prepare and would even be a great one for company. It comes out looking fancy, but it’s totally stress-free!
Slow Cooker Split Pea Soup
Split Pea Soup (or, as he liked to jokingly call it, Spilt Pea Soup) was one of my father-in-law’s favorite meals. The first year we were married, Hubs wanted to have him over for a birthday dinner. He found this recipe for the best Split Pea Soup I have ever had. We make it at least once every winter now and it makes so much we can freeze the leftovers and enjoy it for months following.
Chicken Bone Broth
I am lucky enough to have parents with their own hobby farm, who love to feed their family. Every year, we get to stock our freezer full of homegrown beef, pork and lamb. About a year ago, I began making my own bone broth after processing our meat using the incredibly flavorful recipe found in the book, Coconuts and Kettlebells. If you’re not in the market for a new book (though, I highly recommend it!), one of the authors, Noelle Tarr also shared a free Simple Chicken Bone Broth recipe for the crockpot on her website.
Crockpot Paleo Chicken Pot Pie
Talk about comfort food in a bowl!! I’ve mentioned before that I don’t necessarily eat according to any “diet.” I do, however, tend to lean toward the paleo end of the spectrum. And let me just tell you, this Slow Cooker Paleo Chicken Pot Pie recipe does not disappoint!
