Welcome to the April Installment of Women Who Inspire Wellness! The idea behind this series is to share some insight into the health and wellness journeys of some of the women in my life who inspire me to keep going. My friend, Stacy Lane and I have been through similar experiences with our own quests to learn how to maintain physical, mental and emotional health together over the past couple of years. Wellness is not just physical.
Inspiration from Mom
In her quest to find out how to maintain physical, mental and emotional health together, Stacy has drawn inspiration from her mom. As a mother herself, she strives to be just like her, and her positive outlook in life has been an inspiration all along.
Being diabetic, Stacy tries to eat the Keto way of eating. Taking in less sugar is especially important for her health, and she likes the way it makes her feel.
There’s So Much More to It
The lesson Stacy kept coming back to, however, is that wellness is not just physical, there is so much more to it. In fact, she told me that if she could start her journey with wellness over again, she would focus on her mental health just as much as her physical health. Through this process, she’s learned that you have to focus on physical, mental and emotional health all to be your best self.
Learning How to Maintain Physical, Mental and Emotional Health Together
Living in a world of processed foods and sedentary lifestyles, it’s tough to break the cycle. And when you finally do, it’s easy to forget the importance of mental and emotional health along the way. To maintain all three, especially while life continues to throw curveballs, is such a challenge. To have friends at your side sharing these experiences makes it all a little easier to handle.
