Yesterday, among a summary of tips & tricks for getting through the holidays, I promised to share a recipe that was passed out at a dietitian’s presentation I got to attend at work. I tried the Healthy Eggnog Alternative and I enjoyed it . . . Even though it didn’t really taste like eggnog.

What I Liked About the Healthy Eggnog Alternative
This recipe comes together quick and easily. It only takes about 2 minutes to gather your ingredients and toss them in the blender. I think it will be a recipe I’ll make again, but I’ll likely treat it more as a breakfast smoothie.
Ideas to Improve Next Time
My other thoughts with this are to add more nutmeg and rum extract than what the original recipe calls for. That may make it taste more like eggnog.
Will This Become a Holiday Staple?
The “healthy eggnog alternative” was tasty, but it seemed more like a Christmas Breakfast Smoothie than eggnog.
This December, if I have a craving for it, I’ll just take a small portion of eggnog as an occasional treat.
